On the road between Betancuria and Pájara, you will meet the small village of Vega de Río Palma where you can see a beautiful church with old altarpieces and the sanctuary of the Virgin of the Peña, patron saint of the island. But on leaving Betancuria, make a stop on the heights of the lake, which offers a surprising panorama, with small animals resembling squirrels and not hesitating to eat peanuts in your hand. The road to Pájara can be impressive, but safe, with a spectacular view of the mountain. Landscapes halfway between the Australian bush and the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, with palm groves at the bottom of the barrancos.
