Every Saturday morning, one of the largest weekly markets in the Puy-de-Dôme is held. It is animated by a hundred traders and producers. On the stalls, you can find fresh, quality products, in short circuit (fruits, vegetables, fish, delicatessen, honeys...), but also clothes and trinkets of all kinds. Its picturesque character and its notoriety are reinforced by the presence of small producers on the central square. This commercial effervescence reminds us of the origin of Riom's name, which comes from Ricomagus, "rich market"!

The Leclerc supermarket in Riom is located on the road from Volvic to Enval. The store also offers a service station where you can find different types of fuel at competitive prices. In addition to shopping, Leclerc also offers other services such as rental, cultural space and the drive. What's more, the store has a free wifi connection for customers, as well as a La Poste mailbox to make sending mail easier. Finally, for photography enthusiasts, there's a digital photo terminal available. Leclerc in Riom is therefore a convenient place to shop and enjoy a range of services.

Former sommelier for great starred restaurants, including recently Xavier Beaudiment's restaurant, Le Pré in Durtol, Amaël Sicard has become a wine merchant in the city of Saint Amable. For this new professional step, he joined forces with Yvan Favre. The two partners highlight Auvergne wines, of course, but Burgundy and Bordeaux grands crus are also part of the mix. They also offer a wide range of local beers, champagnes, cognacs and whiskies. Tastings and oenological meetings animate the store from time to time.

One of the younger generation of Auvergne winegrowers, the dynamic Benoît Montel vinifies nearly 400 hectolitres of red, rosé and white wine in Riom. He practises integrated farming, limiting the use of chemicals. His frank, aromatic wines (Côtes-d'Auvergne, Chanturgue red, Madargue red, Châteaugay red, IGP du Puy-de-Dôme...) are benchmarks in the northern sector of the appellation. With the exception of one of his white cuvées, he does not blend his different grape varieties. Benoît Montel is like his wines: sincere, frank and enthusiastic!

Holders of the Qualichef label and Gault & Millau references, the Rochette family's reputation extends far beyond Riom. Everything is homemade, such as the multi-medal-winning dry sausage and the gentian-based terrine. The restaurant also offers a wide range of hot and cold dishes. It's hard to choose between snails, mixed salads or whiting and scallop terrine! The house even offers vegetarian dishes. Products are sold individually or in baskets. The patisserie is just as good.

This chocolate shop is the new gourmet landmark in the city of Saint Amable. To find it, head for one of the town's busiest shopping streets. Once you've pushed open the doors, your eyes will be drawn to the little chocolate bonbons in the central island. We particularly liked the ginger-curcuma ganache: taste it slowly to discover all its flavors. Here, Sydney and Justine's sweet pleasures are diverse.
