At 1,400 m above sea level, it is the highest town in the Canary Islands. Renowned for its authenticity, its lace, almond trees, mineral water, but also its wines and gastronomy. In this place, which is not very popular with tourists, you will appreciate remarkable models of Canarian architecture, such as the old house of the Soler family, the founder of the village, or the square of the church of San Pedro, where the 16th century statue of Saint Peter has been preserved. On the outskirts of the village is the Mirador del Gordo Pino (Viewpoint of the Big Pine, 45 metres high) and a little further on, at 20 metres, an even larger specimen, El Pino de los Dos Pernadas, 56 metres high.
