Situated in a very fertile region where agriculture plays an important role, this town is well known for its production of prestigious wines. It is the starting point of a 23-kilometre wine route that goes all the way to Acentejo. This route is an opportunity to discover the local vintages in a route that will take you from gastronomic restaurants to the wineries that produce them, dealing with unique grape varieties since they resisted the phylloxera epidemic of the 19th century. In Tacoronte you can also visit the church of Santa Catalina, built in 1664, and that of the Christ of Sorrows, with a polychrome Christ also from the 17th century.
