Vladislav had this convent built for the Order of the Premonstratensians in 1140, damaged several times by war and fire, and then rebuilt, its current appearance dates back to the Baroque period (17th and 18th centuries). After the dissolution of the religious orders in 1952, the monastery was transformed into a museum of national literature that boasts a magnificent library. This confirms its role as a cultural centre, which it has been since the first years of its creation.

Superbe monastère où l'on peut voir toute la ville c'est très beau, nous avons visité la bibliothèque c'est tes beau mais je trouve un peu trop pour l'argent quand on nous demande de prendre un ticket supplémentaire pour pouvoir prendre des photos... Endroit A découvrir

Après un promenade dans le parc nous découvrons ce monastère avec une vue imprenable sur la ville. L'architecture sobre des constructions donne de l'austérité au cite religieux qui possède de grandes richesses sur le plan culturel.

Très beau monastère, situé sur les hauteurs de Prague. La vue sur la ville y est magnifique. Installez vous en terrasse pour y boire un latte ou une bonne bière brassée sur place. Comme partout on paye la vue.

The exterior is not very beautiful, but the theater of the theological library is simply sublime. One of the most beautiful rooms I have ever seen!! Too bad you have to pay an extra fee to take pictures…
