Mix with tourists from all over the world to discover Czech folk dances and traditions with this two-hour interactive program. BARÁČNICKÁ RYCHTA

A perfect place to taste authentic Czech cuisine at really reasonable prices. A highly recommended restaurant, therefore. The setting is typically Czech, with its wooden furniture and walls decorated with large wooden panels as well. The menu offers two or three dishes a day depending on the market, while the menu still offers classic bohemian specialities (taste the excellent goulash!). Cultural activities are regularly scheduled in the evenings to liven up the meal. Find out more about the website.

Old house, antique furniture, various rooms and antiques, all equally beautiful and loaded. In this romantic restaurant, you'd think you were at an ambassador's house and it's better to book your table two days in advance. Beautiful game and duck specialities (the restaurant is called "Au Canard Bleu" and the menu offers eight different recipes for cooking palmipeds), topped with mushrooms, nuts, honey and apples, or a plum or cayenne pepper sauce. A pure delight!

CAFÉ LOUVRE

An emblematic Prague café and restaurant, where the ramparts once stood, the Louvre Café recalls the atmosphere of the cafés of the Austro-Hungarian Empire with its dressed waiters, aristocratic furniture and a hushed atmosphere conducive to a galant or business meeting. A true place of history, the Louvre café counts among its customers Karel Čapek, Franz Kafka, Albert Einstein and Masaryk. The restaurant offers excellent Czech cuisine, for very reasonable prices and first-class service. A great experience!

MLEJNICE

Friendly and warm setting with beams and old objects. Salads can be enough for a meal for small appetites. To accompany all this, about fifteen specialities of potato preparations. For the others, some excesses are in sight with duck with apples and calvados. Finally, try some desserts, which are really worth a visit. All this in a very authentic atmosphere - the address is mainly visited by Czechs, so you will not be surrounded by tourists. Small quiet courtyard at the back, nicely decorated.

THE BASE

Czech restaurant €€

In a radical departure from traditional hospoda, The Base's decor is purposely uncluttered, brightly lit and discreetly furnished. The trendy 30-somethings can also be found here, with the copper beer vats as a backdrop (here we only drink Urquell pilsner), and order traditional Czech dishes in a light version, based on local and seasonal produce. Goulash, pork chops and roast duck are all very well done! A little pricey, but you pay for the atmosphere, and the daily menu means you don't have to spend too much.

Unpretentious, but a great place to dine on a budget and in good proportion, a stone's throw from Old Town Square and close to the Roxy. Czech cuisine with a wide range of meat recipes, some trout sold by weight and a wide range of side dishes, all for a very reasonable price. So, for those who don't want to spend too much while filling their stomachs, this is your Prague rendezvous. There are a few tables outside on the sidewalk, but the street isn't very busy.

One of the city's most charming addresses. Located in a 19th-century Art Nouveau building, the setting is magnificent: 7 m high ceilings painted in neo-Renaissance style, large mirrors, elegant wood and marble furnishings, large glass window overlooking the pastry workshop... You won't know where to turn, and taking a tour is already a delightful experience. When it comes to cuisine, the Ambiente group never disappoints, with a selection of high-quality, affordable dishes from breakfast to dinner. Highly recommended.

"Aux Oursons" is the biggest brasserie in Prague. As soon as you enter, you are confronted with a ballet of busy waiters and waitresses, their hands overflowing with mugs, like in the best clichés! The food is typical, well prepared and hearty, accompanied by a beer obviously brewed in-house. Or is it the other way around? Not too expensive and always a good atmosphere. Ideal to taste typical dishes like goulash, pig's knees or pivny syr, literally "beer cheese". Copious as you wish!

We come here to drink a beer and taste some of the best Czech dishes in Prague. Wild boar, roast goose or duck, pig's knees or roast suckling pig or smoked sausage. Pints of beer, cabbage and knedliky obviously accompany the whole thing, an excellent address frequented by the local businessmen who came to eat well... and drink well. Very reasonable prices, even if the place, a chain present all over the country, lacks a little charm and the service is not the best in town

Czech specialities and recipes inspired by the Alpine region are rather successful, in both cases fresh and light products. We also come here for breakfast, very complete and rather cheap in terms of quantity and quality of products: good pastries and fresh fruit juices. A good idea if you have decided to save it at your hotel. And then we also come for the setting: comfortable sofas and a cosy atmosphere under high ceilings, a small terrace on the street, all just a stone's throw from the heart of Nové Mĕsto
