This small town was once the port of Thiers, through which many artisanal products are moving towards the capital. Since the ferry ceased in 1875 with the arrival of the railway, Puy-Guillaume has experienced a new boom starting in 1902, the date of creation of industrial glass, which is still very important today. In the cemetery, tombs adorned with marine crosses are the ultimate testimony of the former boatmen. Nearby, the banks of Dore and Credogne attract many fishermen.
