You are in Sokratous Street, in the old Ottoman quarter, one of the busiest and certainly the most touristy streets in the old city. To flee, a priori! However, this small old café is a historical institution not to be missed. Paradoxically calm in these places, one drinks a real Turkish coffee, in full Ottoman immersion. It is also a kind of cabinet of curiosities, a real capernaum where you will find lots of small treasures. We will smoke the chicha there while admiring the pebble mosaic floors and letting time pass by.

From the outside, you will only see a medieval building with an austere appearance. But go through the carriage entrance and enter the world of Macau. Here is the trendy bar-booth of the old town where people flock to show themselves, sip a cocktail at the counter of the inner courtyard, in a chic and festive atmosphere, before dancing until the end of the night to eclectic music. House lovers will be happy to know that this is the preferred style of the house. You will come across everything Rhodes does, from beautiful nightclubs in heels to slick golden boys.

Le Ronda overlooks Elli Beach and offers two areas: the beach bar itself, and the large modern interior, all in curves. The latter is organized under the large dome of a historic and protected building, a unique testimony of fascist architecture in Rhodes. It offers beautiful views of the sea and the port of Mandraki. In summer, the elegant beach bar spreads its deckchairs and parasols on the sand and offers some shaded tables. A very chic establishment to start an evening or to relax in style during the day on the beach.

Theodoraki Dimitriou Street has been a favorite spot for young Rhodians for a few years now, where they meet at any time of the day or night. Just outside the walls of the old town and behind the New Market, cafes and bars change their atmosphere as the hours go by. This is the case of Barra Tres, a bar with a nice design, where you can have coffee in the morning, a snack during the day and drinks in the evening. At night, the young and festive atmosphere is ensured by very knowledgeable DJs.

You can't escape it: it's displayed everywhere! Not surprising when you consider that each Greek region is entitled to only one casino. Thus, in the Dodecanese, it is in Rhodes that you have to come and play with your money: the islanders of the archipelago come to spend a few hours of leisure there during their stay on the capital island. Slot machines and gaming tables are spread over two floors in the historic building of the Grand Hôtel des Roses. Opened in 1927, it features the pump of architecture in vogue in Rhodes during the fascist period.

It's in the very heart of what was once the Auberge d'Auvergne, in a courtyard shaded by a gigantic plane tree, that you can enjoy the atmosphere of Café Auvergne. The food on offer is not necessarily very interesting: people come here rather to take a break, to drink a coffee during the day between two visits, or to taste a selection of local wines, at aperitif time or in the evening. If you add to this the calm of the place, despite its central location, it's a real meeting place in the heart of the medieval city.

Alternative atmosphere and decoration for this pleasant café-bar whose name means "La Mouche", represented from right to left on the walls and logos of the place. In an old Italian warehouse in the port of Mandraki, you are here near the ramparts of the old town. The coffee is very good (which is not given everywhere!) and some cocktails are a little more interesting than elsewhere. Special mention also goes to the musical selection, which is of high quality. The space is intimate in the evening and friendly during the day, a perfect balance!

We love this bar with its elegant yet relaxed lounge atmosphere, which opens onto the beautiful Arionos square. Ideal for enjoying a balmy summer's night, sharing a cocktail with Rhodes' beau monde. We come here to see and be seen, but in a relaxed, elegant sobriety that has been the hallmark of the place for many years. The cocktails are pleasant and tastefully presented. However, given the unique location, it's hardly surprising that prices are a little inflated...

But the best time to come here is when the sun goes down: it's the perfect time to enjoy an aperitif with your feet up in the water.
