Welcome to Iráklia! This outlying island in the small Cyclades officially has a population of no more than 120 out of season. In summer, it's a bit more, but it's never crowded. Here, life for locals and tourists alike revolves around the port of Aghios Georgios. It's in this village that you'll find accommodation and restaurants, and where you can also enjoy a coffee or a drink in the evening. In fact, all or most of Iraklia's residents live here. Life here is calm, even very calm: beware, this is not a destination for socializing or partying! On the other hand, those who like to watch time go by will be delighted. A few tavernas and bars provide evening entertainment and a short break during the day. The relatively well-stocked Perigiali mini-market is located by the beach. But if you need to buy local products, opt for the Melissa grocery-ticket-post office. The center of life in Aghios Georgios, the Melissa is a must-visit that hasn't changed in decades. You can even enjoy a coffee or a drink at the end of the day at the only table on the premises.
