On the other side of Thira, this seaside resort offers no view of the Caldera. But is this necessarily the worst thing when the village, which is very well served by local buses (only 30 minutes away), stretches along a beautiful 7-kilometre black sand beach? Visitors choose this spot above all for the swimming. It's also worth noting that Perissa is mostly frequented by a young clientele, more interested in partying than in comfort and charm. Nevertheless, the beach is still quite pleasant, large enough not to crowd you, and represents a practical, and often less expensive, base of unsuspected interest.
