Archaeological museum with impressive frescoes and sculptures from the Hellenistic period.
Unfortunately, most of Santorini's archaeological discoveries can be found at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. The Thira Museum houses only a small part of it. Rebuilt in 1960 after the 1956 earthquake. There is a collection of red clay vases, black vases with inscriptions dating from the 5th century BC, as well as various objects from the Minoan period. The museum also houses impressive frescoes and sculptures from the Hellenistic period, Byzantine works of art and even some prehistoric artifacts.

Un très beau musée avec des tarifs abordables. Il est très intéressant et très bien fait avec des pièces d'exception. Le musée et climatisé et on en fait rapidement le tour mais vaut le détour.

Petit musée néanmoins sympathique et intéressant à voir. Le musée regroupe les objets, les vases etc qui se trouvaient à Akrotiri.

Belle muséographie, sobre et bien documentée. Cette visite est un complément indispensable à celle du site d'Akrotiri.
