Isternia, 4 kilometers from Kardiani, clinging to a hill, offers an unforgettable view of the Aegean Sea and the island of Syros. It is a village of artists, among the best preserved of the island of Tinos. It is the last village on the southern coast, a position that gave it its name because "isterna" in Greek means the end. The streets of the village are paved with marble and its white houses are decorated with beautiful lintels that indicate the name of the owner of the house and the year of its construction. At the exit of the village, the small church of Aghios Athanassios is one of the oldest on the island. Five kilometers below, the road leads to a pleasant sandy beach, Ormos.
