Archaeological site offering a superb view of the Aegean Sea.

Paleopolis was in antiquity the political and cultural capital of the island between the 6th century BC and the beginning of the Byzantine period. Since 2003, this archaeological site has been home to a museum containing a large number of statues, vases and jewellery, the oldest of which date from the5th century BC. You can take the 1,039 steps down to the pebble beach... An ancient acropolis inhabited in the Neolithic period, in the centre of the island, the eponymous village offers a superb view of the Aegean Sea.
