There are no buses, and the last kilometer is unpaved. Well sheltered, the bay has a beautiful white sandy beach and is a good anchorage for boats. A small bar has opened, but it's best to think about taking on water. 600 meters north-west above the bay, the hill of Korfari is home to an archaeological site with the remains of a fortified acropolis dating from 2500 to 2300 BC (the stelae discovered in 1962 can be seen at the Apiranthos Archaeological Museum). You can still see the stones planted in the earth delimiting some twenty buildings, including five towers.
