8 kilometers from Merichas, built on a hillside, the town has beautiful cobbled streets, decorated with flowers, fish or boats painted with whitewash. Pleasure for the eyes and also for the taste buds: they are punctuated with good restaurants where you can watch the day stretching out. Its churches are particularly interesting, especially Aghios Savas which dates from the 17th century, but also Aghia Triada and Metamorphossi tou Sotiros. During the Venetian rule, Aghios Savas was divided into two parts: one for the Catholics, the other for the Orthodox. In the churches of Chora you can admire icons of the Cretan school.
