Welcome to Aegina! Although the island has three ports (Aghia Marina to the east and Souvala to the north), it's usually here, to the west, that you'll disembark. This discreetly beautiful town is still pleasant, with its neoclassical houses, the white church of Aghios Nikolaos and its pistachio vendors. And don't miss the only surviving column of the Doric temple of Apollo (520 BC) on the hill where the ancient acropolis once stood, and the intriguing marble sphinx in its interesting archaeological museum.
