The scenery around the site is superb and the excursion itself, coupled with the discovery of Karytaina and Andritsena, two typical villages, is the promise of an excellent day in the mountains. Here you are at the foot of one of the best preserved temples in Greece, hidden in the middle of the Peloponnese. But one of the most fragile too: since 1987, this jewel of antiquity has been entirely covered by a huge white veil supported by scaffolding. This structure was laid "temporarily" to protect the limestone from the colonnades that were crumbling under the effect of acid rain. But disappointment is quickly forgotten.
