The fort of Bourtzi, built in 1471, was connected to Acronauplia by a chain.
Bourtzi Fort was built in 1471 on the islet of Saints-Theodores by an Italian engineer. At the time of the Venetian domination, it was connected to the Acronauplie by a chain, which made it possible to prevent unwanted ships from entering the port. Bourzi was built in the still visible form of a tall octagonal tower flanked by two low semi-circular towers housing the guns. The walls were reinforced between 1711 and 1714. After independence, Bourtzi was for a time the residence of the executioners who executed Palamidi's convicts.

Fort très photogénique
Ne ratez pas ce joli fort. On peut en faire de très belles photos au coucher du soleil, en se promenant sur le front de mer.
