It is accessible by boat from the port. Badija is tiny and the former Franciscan monastery has now become a sports club.The island is located in the east of the city. It is the largest in the Pelješac archipelago. The Franciscans in Bosnia were the first to settle there in the late th century to build their convent.They lived until 1950 when they were expelled by expropriation on the pretext of military need.
