In the hinterland of Biograd, Pakoštane, Drage and down to the sea level of Murter, Croatia's largest natural lake extends over 3,000 hectares (14 km long and 2 km wide). It is no more than 5 m deep. Due to its proximity to the coast, seawater enters the lake during high tides. To get as close as possible to the lake, you can stay in Pakoštane or the village of Vrana. For example, at the Heritage Hotel Maškovića Han, a former caravanserai admirably restored to become a luxury hotel. An unusual place to stay, from where you can enjoy a range of nature activities around the lake or explore the region.
