KASTEL FRANKOPAN

In the 12th century, the Frankopan family built a fort, and in the 16th and 17th centuries their heirs built the castle. In the inner courtyard, public areas have been created for cultural events and concerts. A permanent exhibition installed in the two imposing towers presents the traditional costume of the island, the ancient armoury, including beautiful crossbows. The view from the top of the towers is of the whole archipelago and the island's countryside. The climb is quite dizzying and not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
