After Rijeka, at the entrance to the bay of Bakar, going down to the southeast, this seaside town is mentioned as early as the 13th century. The town is proud of its two castles, which belonged to the Zrinski and Frankopan families and were the scene of bloody battles. Clear sea, lush greenery, heritage: Kraljevica is worth a stop. But tourists seem to be in more of a hurry to get to the island of Krk or Crikvenica... Also worth seeing is the historic port of Bakar, very picturesque, unfortunately surrounded by factories. A tourist office (Frankopanska 1a) provides bus schedules for the famous bridge and the cultural agenda.
