Between the cities of Rijeka and Opatija, this pretty little town in the mountains - sparsely populated (2 000 inhabitants) - is worth a visit. Its monuments bear witness to its past splendor and eventful history. Thus, its nine defense towers, six of which are still standing, show how much the city was coveted. If you decide to visit Kastav, do so at night to climb one of the towers and contemplate the infinite lights of the houses, from the stars to the sea. During the day, the view of the islands of the gulf is also superb. Nice places to take a break or have dinner are waiting for the visitors.
