This large point of sale is being expanded to include an educational and taste museum. It evokes olive growing, the whole chain from the cultivation of the olive to the production of oil, from Roman times to the present day, the different varieties, compositions and uses. You are reminded of the virtues of the Mediterranean diet. Wide selection of cold-pressed olive oils from Istria, as well as alcohols, condiments, aromatic herbs, olive wood objects, etc.

Each visit to the Istrian Olive Oil House includes an olive oil tasting session led by a qualified person. You will learn how to properly taste olive oil, what particular aromas and tastes to look for, how to recognize a superior quality extra virgin olive oil and differentiate it from industrially produced oils. You will have the opportunity to test and taste the oils of several leading Istrian producers and try a selection of oils of different varieties with different taste and aroma.

The olive oil brands selected for you are from all over Istria: Oio Vivo, Brist, Cadenela, Chiavalon, Meloto, Olea Prima, Salvela, Cornia Losa - Vodnjan and its surroundings, Terra Rossa, Oleum Viride from the Belić family, Negri olive oil, Dolija - Eastern Istria, Vošten, Oliveri, Ol Istria, Flego - Poreč and surroundings, Perdisacca and Bembo oils - Bale, Dobravac - Rovinj, Mate, Olive Charm and Vergal, Ipša and Zigante from northern Istria, Balija - Fažana, Tangier, Traulin, Nonno Bruno - southern Istria.


The Istrian Olive Oil House in the centre of Pula

tells the story of olive growing in Istria, from history to the present day. While visiting the museum, you can find out why Istrian olive oil was highly valued by the ancient Romans and how it was produced; what happened to olive oil production in the Middle Ages, how the oil was produced by our ancestors and how it is produced today and, finally, what are the secrets of creating a top quality extra virgin olive oil.

Each tour includes an oil tasting led by a qualified person.

You will learn why Istrian olive oils are considered to be among the best in the world, you will be able to taste oils from different Istrian producers, taste different varieties of oils and blends.
