Gothic style church with a wonderful collection of Catalan silverware and a bell tower with a beautiful view
Between the cathedral and the Ramblas stands the church of Santa María del Pi, in Gothic style. It was consecrated in 1453 by Bishop Llorens de Terranova. It is said that a hamlet existed here in the5th century. Located outside the Roman city walls, it was known as Vila Nova del Pi ("the new town of the pine"). Of the old pine forest, only a single tree remains today. The basilica has a wonderful collection of Catalan silverware and the bell tower offers a beautiful view of the city.

Immense édifice avec une grande tour, entre deux petites places agréables. Incontournable quand on prend les ruelles pour se rendre de la Rambla à la cathédrale. L'intérieur est aussi impressionnant avec une nef unique entourée de chapelles latérales.
A church wedged between the Cathedral and the rambla. Very pleasant. On the square behind the small cafés rather in the shade. A relaxing break.
The best at Barcelona and around
