Barcelona's great festa major (patron saint's day) is celebrated every year in honour of La Mercè, the city's co-sponsor with Santa Eulàlia (celebrated around February 12 during the winter festa major). For 4 days, the city lives to the rhythm of popular celebrations (parades of giants, correfocs, castells, etc.) in the streets of Barri Gòtic; street arts festival (MAC) shows, mainly in Ciutadella Park and Montjuïc Park; and BAM festival concerts, organized in various spaces of the city.
