Travel Guide Edfou

Departing from Luxor or Aswan, Edfu is the intermediate visit between Esna and Kom-Ombo. You can get there by train, cab or microbus. Situated on the left bank of the Nile, Edfou is a small village lined with café terraces, sheltering in the shade of trees where birds chirp. Although tourists have been few and far between since the 2011 revolution, the Temple of Horus is once again popular with tourists, and rightly so: this temple is truly magnificent! Once again, early in the morning, the main street is transformed into an amazing caterpillar of horse-drawn carriages, loaded with tourists and linking the cruise ships to the city temple.
