The village of La Roche-Blanche takes its name from the spectacular limestone cliff, with its troglodytic caves, at the foot of which it nestles. The main attraction of the town is however the Gergovie plateau, witness of the battle between Vercingetorix and Caesar. Located at an altitude of more than 700 m, the plateau offers a 360° view on the Auvergne landscapes. Before going to survey the plateau to discover the archaeological remains that still appear here and there, the Museum of Gergovie allows the visitor to relive the Gallic War, thanks to a lively and interactive tour. You can also discover the geological history of the region.
