Lindi is the former colonial administrative capital of the country. The zone then produced sisal and rubber. The British, however, préférèrent the deep waters of Mtwara to establish an important port. And now again, it's taking advantage of the awakening that starts (with gas in particular), while Lindi sees no development possible and relies essentially on the production of sea salt. Yet the corner is worth staying there for a long time because the beaches are beautiful and shallow waters.
