Jambiani beach stretches for almost 8 km and is a veritable paradise on earth, with coconut palms, a sea studded with blue tinged by the coral reef and palm trees... Magnificent! It's one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, if not the most beautiful! Less crowded and windy than Pajé, but just as beautiful - bathed in a "white lagoon" of sea-urchin-free sand in shallow waters - it is bordered by a rock formation to the south (at the level of the new Bamboo lodge). To the north, it is continuous with Pajé, separated by an area of wild vegetation around the village of Mbuyuni. The beach is a little jewel, very wide, with sparkling white sand and a beautiful coconut forest. The breeze is refreshing in the heat (beware of sunburn!), and windsurfing and kitesurfing are king here, as they are at Pajé. Dozens of sails dance in the sky as the sportsmen and women on the water. Luxury, mid-range and more affordable hotels (hostels) have sprung up in this idyllic setting, but unlike other villages on the island, they are not cut off from the locals, who happily mingle at hotel events and weekend parties. A beautiful place where nightlife comes alive in season, especially at weekends. The atmosphere is relaxed, but calmer than in Pajé.In Jambiani, you slalom between the multitude of coconut palms and banco houses. These fishing villages have a very modest way of life. Recently, a multitude of local restaurants and small stores have opened in the village itself, along the main trail. We encourage you to eat there (as in Gerezani, for example) and buy in these stores, so that tourism in Zanzibar can finally take on a more equitable meaning. On the beach, women can be seen collecting seaweed at low tide, which feeds the Pajé Seeweed Center (visit recommended). The best thing to do is hire a bike to go as far as Pajé and do some sightseeing. You'll enjoy strolling through the village (dressed decently, of course), wandering from restaurant to beach bar, watching the youngsters' soccer matches..For excursions: see Pajé for details (Blue Lagoon, The Rock, Kae Funk, Dolphins, Pungume, Jozani Forest).
