This festival of music, dance and theatre lasts 4 days: about 400 artists perform in more than 40 concerts on 3 stages.

This "sound of wisdom" in Kiswahili is a 4-day event of music, dance and theatre. Created in 2003 by a cultural NGO, its success is now phenomenal. As it is free, all the inhabitants come to Stone Town to enjoy it. It starts with a parade through the town (a carnival with stilt walkers, acrobats, percussionists and Beni brass band), from the dala dala terminal to the waterfront. About 400 artists perform in more than 40 concerts on 3 stages each year, hotels and restaurants are taken by storm.
