Affordable guest house with an excellent welcome and delicious breakfast in Stone Town.

A very pretty guest house at an affordable price with few rooms, where you'll feel right at home. Hiliki House faces a curtain of bougainvillea in the Victoria Garden, in a quiet location at the entrance to the old town. Rooms are cosy (with fan, air-conditioning and safe), furnished with precious wooden antiques, Zanzibari beds and stylish decor. Even the less expensive rooms have en-suite bathrooms. Lounge with antique carpets and library, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast. Excellent welcome. Excellent budget plan.

Habíamos reservado en Retro Hotel y el encargado nos llevó a otro hotel (Kekele Square) porque ya tenía todo ocupado. El hotel era de peor calidad, sin toallas, ruido de bares-discotecas, duchas que no funcionaban, habitaciones pequeñas... Para nada recomendable, reservamos una cosa y nos dieron otra

Hiliki house is a beautiful old family house in the heart of Stone Town. The place is perfectly in line with Stone Town's incredible architecture and it's been a pleasure spending the night here for a very reasonable price.
Staff was friendly and available.
Breakfast was below average, needs some improvement.
Room was nice and spacious, cleanness good overall.
I definitely recommend spending a night here!

I would strongly recommend you NOT stay at Hiliki House. The rooms are dirty and poorly kept, the manager is extremely rude, the breakfast is tasteless and you have to wait for ages for service, and they couldn't be bothered to even put out a bottle of water and a few clean glasses in the rooms. Everything is dark and grimy!
