PHILIPPOPOLIS GALLERY AND MUSEUM

This gallery is the first private museum in the country. The ground floor is an exhibition and sales area for contemporary paintings with free entrance, while the first floor is a paying museum where Bulgarian artists of the 19th and 20th centuries are exhibited. The works on display are varied. It was the house of Hadji Aleko, one of the strongest houses at the time, built in 1865. Today it is classified as a cultural monument of architecture and art.
