One of the city's most romantic views and a symbol of Plovdiv.
It is one of the symbols of Plovdiv. The Fortress Gate (translation from Turkish) has its origin in antiquity. The present monument was rebuilt during the national Renaissance. The site, with the cobblestones of the sloping street passing under the gate surrounded by colorful houses built on the heights, offers one of the most romantic views of the city. To the north of the gate and the wall, you can see the foundations of the old fortress.
