A beautiful destination in northwestern Bulgaria, whose name means "little white town" and which combines a unique and picturesque location, a rich heritage and the atmosphere of the authentic Balkans. Belogradtchik is surrounded by spectacular fairy chimneys and red sandstone mountains that remind one of a small Colorado. The fortress is a first-class site, naturally integrated in these geological eccentricities. The upper town, at the foot of the chimneys, appears like a Balkan village and offers several friendly and affordable guest houses. The lower part of the town is modern and has all the infrastructures that make it a real regional center.
