From the top of the sloping path that leads to it, the first thing you notice is the panoramic view of this picture-postcard bay... life-size. A must-see! Fashion, charm and tourism photographers have made Anse Lazio a sure bet. It's also a film beach, as Polanski put it in Pirates. And when it comes to bathing, you can't go wrong! The sea is neither too calm nor too rough, with waves just right. For shade, there are large takamakas and coconut palms. But these umbrellas are hard-fought for on Sundays. The tables at the legendary Bonbon Plume restaurant used to be hotly contested, but now it's the Mabuya's superb open-plan dining room that's a big hit when it's time to sit down to dinner or sip a cocktail. The beach is very busy in the middle of the day (and almost saturated when cruise liners stop off), as well as on Sundays, when the Praslinois sunbathe... The parking lot (charged at SR 100 per day) can sometimes hold around 50 cars: for a Seychelles beach, it's a real traffic jam. But the place regains its solitude in the late afternoon, when the last sun caresses this cove at the end of the world. A magical place that opens onto a soothing horizon, where another marvellous island, Aride, rises six miles away. Please note: the bus does not go as far as Anse Lazio. As the terminus is Anse Boudin, you'll have to walk the last (steep) kilometer.
