Fief of the Yami tribe, Lanyu (also known as Orchid Island) is a volcanic island of 44 km². But a more interesting discovery awaits the visitor: the meeting with the Yami. It is the Aboriginal group most rooted in its culture: its geographical isolation has contributed to the preservation of its cultural specificities. Lanyu has six villages, the most important of which is Yeyou. Be careful, if you wish to go to Lanyu from August to October inclusive, please ask in advance about the risks of typhoons.
