Travel Guide Jhihben – 知本

12 km from Taitung, the hot springs of Jhihben (also spelled Zhiben) are located at the mouth of the river of the same name. This spa was born under the Japanese occupation and is one of the most important spas in Taiwan, to the point that it has become the main attraction of the Taitung region. In recent years, the springs have seen an increase in use and most of the infrastructure has been renovated. Water with the characteristic sulphur smell stimulates blood circulation and relieves the joints: it is in any case a very pleasant experience.
