At kilometre 39 of Provincial Highway 2. A stronghold of the Pig Pu Aboriginal tribe, Jinshan experienced a large wave of Chinese immigration from Fujian at the end of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (late 18th century). The city centre still bears the memory of this, especially its oldest street, Jin Bao Lane, which is characterized by Qing architecture. In addition, the city is known for its hot springs. Less popular than Peitou or Wulai, they still attract visitors on weekends. These sources have, reassure you, nothing to do with the proximity of a nuclear power plant! Finally, the Jinshan Peninsula has the peculiarity of being planted here and there by coral islands in the shape of candlesticks.
