Just opposite Tamsui, to which it is connected by ferry, the small village of Bali is growing at a fast pace, thanks to government initiatives in favour of tourism in this region. A good place to extend the visit of Tamsui, and discover the beautiful archaeological museum. A myriad of restaurants have also opened. To get there from Tamsui, take one of the ferries, between 6am and 9pm, and even later on weekends and during the summer. Coming from Taipei, and to avoid going all the way to Tamsui, you can also, from the Guandu subway station, take one of the many buses that go to Bali: this can allow you to avoid an interminable queue at the ferry entrance on weekends and holidays.
