The small town of Phang Nga is typically Thai, with little tourist interest apart from a few temples and caves to visit in the surrounding area. It is best known for its magnificent bay, where a multitude of limestone peaks cut through the sky. At the base of these cliffs, crowned with tropical vegetation, are natural caves with rugged reliefs. Ao Phang Nga National Park is a treasure trove. You can explore the bay by alternating between boat and kayak. A number of caves are also well worth a visit, some of which contain surprising cave paintings in very good condition.
