The nearest beach, Thong Sala on the west coast, opposite the uninhabited island of Koh Tae Nai, is quite quiet and even has a certain charm. The beach is not easy to find, hidden between the trees and structures lining the road, so you need to keep your eyes wide open. It's not ideal for swimming, but there are plenty of activities on offer: kayaking, stand-up paddling, snorkeling... Evenings are mild and pleasant. The beach is a fifteen-minute walk from the town of Thong Sala, or a cab ride should cost around 50 baht. You can also hire a scooter around the beach.
