Bai Lan is certainly not the most beautiful beach on the island, and swimming is not made easy by the many rocks, but it's a quiet place. The little village is charming and represents a more relaxed alternative to Lonely Beach. Unfortunately, most of the beach is now occupied by a vast hotel complex, leaving little room for contemplative reverie. A few rudimentary bungalows are available for a mainly backpacker clientele. Nevertheless, there are still some virtually untouched corners. You'll also find a few shops on site.
