A temple located opposite Fort Mahakan, distinguished by its steps offering a magnificent view of the city...
The temple is located in front of the Mahakan fort, the last one that remains with that of Phra Sumen. Rama II had planned the construction of a gigantic chedi of which only the hill remains the testimony. Rama V in his retinue built a more modest chedi which was enlarged to accommodate a relic of Buddha given, according to legend, by the English governor of India to King Rama V in 1899. The temple is worth the visit for the 318 steps that offer a magnificent view of the city.
