Petit Futé's opinion on HENRI- LECOQ MUSEUM

Vintage plate 2020

Here we are in the private mansion where Henri Lecoq lived while he held the chair of natural sciences. When he died, the scientist bequeathed his collection to Clermont, which bought the building and opened the museum in 1873. The natural sciences were given pride of place: botany, geology, mineralogy, zoology, paleontology... The museum focuses largely on the Auvergne, its natural resources and its figures, such as Blaise Pascal. The programme of conferences and workshops is packed! In summer, during the Contre-plongées, readings are held in the garden.
