Art galleries Clermont-Ferrand

David Chabannes, grandson of the gallery's creators, has been at the helm of the place since 2015. He is supported by his wife Laura and his collaborator Aurélien. Facing the town hall since 1967, this exhibition and sales place can boast of having promoted its artists as far as the United States and Japan. The exhibitions focus on the School of Paris, Figuration narrative, street art or pop art, and give the opportunity to admire works by Moiras, Buffet, SPaRK, Mr Garcin, Motte or Keymi. Exhibitions are also held at the castle of Val.

Marjorie Herrero is a visual artist. In 2015, she decided to set up her studio-boutique in Rue du Port. She invites her creative friends and local artists to join her. Her trademark? A marked nostalgia for the toys of her childhood, which she customizes with humor. She also excels in the art of origami, which she transforms into paintings and cushions. You can also try your hand at origami at one of the workshops she runs. In her boutique, you'll find all kinds of original works at affordable prices!

Bertrand Trocmez, a member of the Comité professionnel des Galeries d'Art, has settled in Clermont-Ferrand in the heart of the historic district. He is interested in modern and contemporary art, particularly the artists of the Forces nouvelles movement, of which Robert Humblot and Henri Jannot are members, as well as the abstract artists of the New School of Paris. About twenty permanent artists share the exhibition space, including Pontus Carle, Roger Desserprit, Henri Goetz and many others. The gallery's website lists the artists and their works.

Located opposite the FRAC, this gallery is one of Clermont-Ferrand's leading contemporary art venues. The vast white space is housed in an old building in the historic center. While the gallery has hosted works by some of the world's leading artists, such as Peter Klasen, Dennis Oppenheim and Frank Stella, it also offers the opportunity to discover lesser-known artists. The choice of exhibitions is guided solely by aesthetic affinities, which explains the alternation of diverse currents that bring together painters, photographers, video artists, sculptors...

The gallery presents a fine collection of singular jewelry: editions or one-off pieces of rings, brooches, pendants and other ornaments. Solid silver and gold predominate, but ceramic, Murano glass and even Plexiglas items are also on display. A number of artists have their work on permanent display, including paintings, engravings and sculptures in bronze and paper. The place shows its diversity by mixing refinement, originality and modernity. A good address if you like jewelry, fine art... or both!

After having created an agency of visual artists, opening a gallery was the logical next step for Sandrine Parlant. Here are exposed the works of the artists of the agency Volcanic'arts, but not only. The goal is to open the exhibitions to other young artists from time to time. A real place of life, events are organized there: openings, meetings, workshops, readings, brunches... An objective for the young entrepreneur: to share her passion for art, while making it accessible to all. The gallery can be privatized for a private event.

It is difficult to define Do Nothing. The brand created by the Clermont-Ferrand label Kütü Records is a showcase for local artists. Music, silkscreen printing, photography, sewing, graphics, literature... The only difficulty is to discover when to do nothing? An imprecision that adds to the charm of the place, which offers a beautiful definition of idleness! The gallery-boutique has joined forces with ¡Viva la Pepa ¡! (Hispanic-inspired cuisine) to develop a picnic concept in the city. Mixed place: shop, picnic, gallery where culinary and artistic activities coexist, it is also sometimes possible to participate in activities, to settle inside or on the pretty terrace.

In Extenso is a contemporary art gallery. Four to five exhibitions of works by national and international artists are held here each year, much to the delight of art lovers. This year, the gallery will welcome Alan Schmalz with his exhibition 999 Governing Bodies. Off-site exhibitions are also installed. The team also publishes and co-publishes exhibition catalogs. It has also created LaBelle Revue, which comes out every April and presents local exhibitions and art news.
