Built by Welsh settlers who arrived in the region in 1865, Gaimán is the oldest municipality in the province of Chubut. Its origin is preserved and promoted, which has turned Gaimán into a kind of pilgrimage place of Welsh culture: picturesque streets, a network of irrigation canals, typical brick buildings, two chapels, a museum housed in the old railway station and a few casas de té (a bit of a tourist attraction) on every corner
