Angastaco is a small village perched at nearly 2,000 m in the middle of the Calchaqui valley, very close to the strange and fabulous Quebrada de las Flechas. Located 64 km from Cafayate, and 40 km from Molinos, the village is planted in this colourful mountainous desert. It was once an Indian hamlet and you can still see a few huts leaning against the sand dunes. Angastaco is more recent than Cachi or Molinos, but is not without charm. It is possible to get there from Cafayate or Salta, but only a few trips per day, so check well in advance. From or to Molinos and Cachi, no public transport, but discounts.
