Here you are at an altitude of 1,900 meters, in the last town before crossing the Chilean border. You can visit, in the north of the village, the bóvedas (vaults), earthen constructions of vaulted form dating from the end of the XVIIIth century. They were used to process the minerals extracted in the area. Some remains of a furnace used for smelting and those of the mill used to grind the ores can still be seen. It is also in these furnaces that the metal for the manufacture of the weapons necessary to the army of the Andes was melted. To get there, follow the road to Villavicencio and cross the first bridge on your left.
