In addition to the Jesuit estancia that sits at its centre and the beautiful buildings that adorn some of its streets, the town of Alta Gracia, built in the 17th century, prides itself on having offered hospitality to some illustrious men attracted by the healthy air of the hills, to whom it has dedicated museums. It was here that Che lived in the 1930s when he was a teenager. Today tourism is the main attraction of the city. A little extra for the amateurs: there are two golf courses here. The city can also be the starting point for day trips into the surrounding nature (www.altagracia.gov.ar).
